Competition Lawyer (Milan)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Competition Lawyer to join a leading international consumer‑focused business in Milan. The role sits within a fast‑paced B2C environment where competition law is integral to commercial decisions and strategic growth across European markets.

Key responsibilities

• Advise on EU and Italian competition matters, including abuse of dominance, cartel investigations, and horizontal/vertical agreements.
• Provide competition law support for domestic and cross‑border M&A transactions, including merger control analysis and regulatory filings.
• Design and implement business‑oriented competition compliance programmes for a consumer‑facing organisation.
• Support distribution strategies, pricing policies, e‑commerce initiatives, and commercial partnerships.
• Collaborate with commercial, regulatory, and compliance teams to deliver pragmatic legal advice.
• Manage relationships with external counsel and interact with competition authorities as needed.
• Monitor EU competition law developments and assess their impact on the business.

Required profile

• Qualified lawyer with 8–12 years of post‑qualification experience in competition law.
• Strong expertise in EU and Italian competition law, especially abuse of dominance and commercial agreements.
• Proven experience designing and rolling out compliance frameworks and training programmes.
• Commercially minded with the ability to provide clear, actionable advice to senior stakeholders.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, comfortable working in an international matrix organisation.
• Fluency in English; additional European language(s) advantageous.
