Consultant – AI-Powered Process Automation

About the role

Appian Customer Success is looking for a Consultant to act as its consulting arm, working directly with large commercial clients to accelerate adoption of its AI-Powered Process Automation platform. The role sits at the intersection of business strategy and technical innovation, owning end-to-end delivery of custom software solutions and working side by side with client executives. Location: Milan, Italy; work model: remote.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and deploy custom automation solutions across the project lifecycle using the Appian platform.
• Build data connections and scalable APIs to integrate external enterprise systems via REST, SOAP and JDBC.
• Launch new relational data models in production and optimise database design with SQL.
• Deliver features in cross-functional Agile teams (sprints, stand-ups, pair programming).
• Work with client technical teams and business stakeholders to drive platform adoption and train users.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Mathematics or a closely related technical field.
• 1+ years of hands-on software development or technical implementation consulting experience.
• Ability to analyse client business processes and turn them into functional and technical requirements.
• Willingness to travel up to 20% for customer engagements and on-site collaboration.

Required skills

• Object-Oriented Programming (OOP)
• Database design and SQL (complex queries, joins, views)
• REST, SOAP and JDBC integration

Preferred: familiarity with AWS, Google Cloud or Elastic Containers, and exposure to AI, machine learning, analytics and automated test suites in CI.

What we offer

• Base salary range of EUR 25,000 to 75,000, depending on experience, qualifications and market conditions.
