Controls Software Engineer

About the role

Dematic, part of the Kion Group, is looking for Controls Software Engineers to join its EMEA Engineering team on a permanent basis. You will be responsible for on‑site electrical and PLC software commissioning of automated material‑handling projects across the EMEA region.

Key responsibilities

• Commission control systems on‑site, including electrical wiring and PLC software, and support system testing and end‑user training.
• Produce commissioning documentation such as checklists, test specifications, method statements and risk assessments in line with BS EN ISO 12100.
• Interpret electrical schematics and design inputs, ensuring CE compliance with the Machinery Directive and safety standards (BS EN ISO 13849/13850/60204).

Required profile

• Degree in Electrical or Controls Engineering (Bachelor or Master).
• Hands‑on experience with electrical commissioning and PLC, HMI, SCADA development.
• Willingness to travel up to 70% of the time to customer sites across Europe, with a full driver’s licence.
