Solution Development Engineer

About the role

Dematic is seeking a Solution Development Engineer to join its Customer Service team in Cernusco sul Naviglio, Milan. The role focuses on creating service and modernization solutions for automated intralogistics systems and supporting customers throughout the lifecycle of their installations.

Key responsibilities

• Develop technical solutions for modernization, retrofit, expansion and lifecycle management projects related to automated material handling and intralogistics systems.
• Analyze customer requirements and define solution concepts in cooperation with internal stakeholders and subject matter experts.
• Prepare technical and commercial proposals, including scope definition, budget estimation and project planning.
• Coordinate cross‑functional activities involving mechanical, electrical, controls, software, installation and project management teams.
• Support the preparation of technical documentation, layouts and proposal material.

Required profile

• University degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical or Automation Engineering with a focus on logistics (or equivalent).
• Experience in solution development, project engineering, service engineering or technical sales support within industrial automation, intralogistics or material handling.
• Strong analytical, organizational and problem‑solving skills with excellent communication and stakeholder management capabilities.
• Willingness to travel nationally and internationally and fluent written and spoken English.
