Cook Assistant – Hotel Kitchen

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Cook Assistant to join the kitchen team at W Sardinia. In this full‑time position you will support the Chef and kitchen staff during busy periods, ensuring smooth service and high‑quality food presentation.

Key responsibilities

• Communicate assistance needs to the Chef and notify the manager of any product that does not meet specifications.
• Check appliance and food temperatures, monitor portion sizes, and ensure proper garnish and arrangement.
• Serve food in correct portions and on appropriate receptacles.
• Set up, clean, and break down the workstation, including washing and disinfecting tables, tools, knives, and equipment.
• Prepare ingredients – portion, chop, store, wash, and peel fresh fruits and vegetables.
• Assist in cooking and food preparation tasks as directed.
• Follow all company safety, security, and hygiene policies; report maintenance needs, accidents, or unsafe conditions.
• Maintain a clean, professional appearance and uphold confidentiality of proprietary information.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• No prior experience required; willingness to learn in a fast‑paced hospitality environment.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift up to 25 lb and perform repetitive motions for extended periods.
• Strong communication skills and a team‑oriented attitude.
