Customer Operations & Supply Chain Internship

About the role

Join Barilla’s Customer Operations & Supply Chain team as an intern focused on EDI and order management. You will work closely with Customer Service, Sales, Logistics and Demand Planning to ensure smooth order cycles and high service levels in a fast‑moving FMCG environment.

Key responsibilities

• Support the full customer order cycle, from order entry to transmission (EDI and other tools) and delivery coordination.
• Monitor lead times and service‑level targets, reporting any deviations.
• Collaborate with internal teams to resolve daily operational issues and ensure seamless order fulfillment.
• Assist in managing promotions, ensuring correct logistics data and warehouse coordination.
• Track service performance, identify delivery issues or stock shortages, and help develop corrective actions.
• Analyze customer complaints, determine root causes, and support remediation.
• Participate in stock management activities with external warehouses.
• Identify opportunities for process optimisation and cost efficiency in distribution and logistics flows.
• Help manage exceptional situations such as order errors, product recalls or delivery disruptions.

Required profile

• Recently graduated or about to graduate in Economics, Business, Engineering, or a related field.

Required skills

• Experience with Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) systems.
