Cyber Defense Junior Specialist

About the role

MSC Cruises is looking for a motivated Cyber Defense Junior Specialist to join its IT & Cyber Security department. You will work on both shoreside and onboard environments, helping to protect computer systems, networks, and data across the company’s global fleet.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and optimise security tooling such as email gateways, firewalls, IDS/IPS, web security gateways and emergency detection & response solutions.
• Maintain documentation, update security controls and support the rollout of new security software.
• Assist IT during patching, vulnerability remediation and technical troubleshooting for users.
• Analyse and respond to previously undisclosed software and hardware vulnerabilities.
• Participate in the incident‑response process and continuously improve configurations to raise security posture.
• Perform any other duties assigned by the security team.

Required profile

• Degree in Computer Science, IT, Computer Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 4 + years of experience in network security or a cyber‑security role.
• Strong knowledge of operating‑system administration and network‑security technologies.
• Fluent English and primary Italian language.
• Willingness to be on‑call and support operations outside standard working hours.
• Adaptable team player able to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
