Data & Analytics Team Leader – Milan

About the role

Oliver Wyman’s Data & Analytics (DNA) division is seeking a Team Leader to manage client projects in Milan. You will lead quantitative analyses, guide junior analysts, and collaborate with partners to deliver high‑impact insights across sectors such as financial services, climate, energy, retail and transportation.

Key responsibilities

• Lead a single client project at a time, overseeing hypothesis development, data collection, model creation, and analysis.
• Coordinate and mentor analysts, ensuring high‑quality deliverables and maintaining team energy and work‑life balance.
• Utilise partners and internal networks to provide technical and senior‑level guidance.
• Engage directly with clients to present findings, manage expectations and drive actionable recommendations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a quantitative discipline (e.g., Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Computer Science, Engineering).
• At least 5 years of experience in specialized consulting, top‑tier banking or financial institutions with a focus on data analytics, credit risk, financial modelling or machine‑learning.
• Strong analytical, documentation and communication skills, with fluency in Italian and English.
• Ability to travel regularly and manage demanding workloads in a fast‑paced environment.

Required skills

• Advanced analytics and data‑manipulation tools: R, Python, SAS, SQL, SPSS.
