Data Science Specialist

About the role

We are looking for a Data Science Specialist to join our Data & Analytics team at the Milan headquarters of the Prada Group. The role focuses on designing, building, and industrialising AI solutions for customer personalization and recommendation systems across our luxury brands.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deploy personalization models and recommendation engines that translate business needs into scalable, data‑driven solutions.
• Lead the full lifecycle of data‑science projects—from prototyping to production—while ensuring compliance with enterprise platform standards.
• Coordinate small external development teams, overseeing code quality, timelines and deliverables.
• Collaborate with cross‑IT programs (Data Platform, Integration, Digital, CRM) and business stakeholders to manage dependencies.
• Build and maintain scalable data pipelines on Databricks and Azure to support model training, serving and continuous improvement.
• Monitor model performance, identify improvement opportunities and contribute to MLOps best practices.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in a quantitative field (Statistics, Computer Science, Machine Learning, Data Science, Mathematics, Engineering) or equivalent experience.
• 4+ years of industry experience in data science, with a strong focus on personalization and recommendation systems.
• Proven ability to work on complex, cross‑functional programs in an international environment.
• Fluency in Italian and English, both written and spoken.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in Python and PySpark.
• Strong SQL knowledge.
• Hands‑on experience with Databricks (MLflow, Feature Store, Model Serving).
• Experience with Azure cloud services.
• Familiarity with MLOps practices (CI/CD for ML, model monitoring, automated retraining).
• Experience managing external development teams.
