Director of Membership

About the role

We are looking for a visionary Director of Membership to shape and lead the exclusive membership programme of a new 5‑star private club in the heart of Rome. This senior position will be responsible for attracting high‑net‑worth individuals, fostering long‑term loyalty, and delivering a luxury experience that aligns with the club’s premium positioning.

Key responsibilities

• Design and execute membership strategies, tiers and benefit structures to attract and retain elite members.
• Lead acquisition and retention initiatives while preserving the club’s exclusivity.
• Build and nurture long‑term relationships with members to drive engagement.
• Recruit, develop and manage a high‑performing membership team.
• Oversee seamless onboarding and coordinate bespoke events across departments.
• Partner with marketing to promote membership offerings through strategic campaigns.
• Represent the club at high‑profile events and networking opportunities.
• Utilise CRM data to analyse member behaviour, generate insights and drive continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Hospitality Management or related field (Master’s preferred).
• 7–10 years of experience in membership management, preferably in luxury hospitality or private clubs.
• Proven track record of developing successful membership programmes.
• Strong leadership, interpersonal and communication skills with a high‑touch service mindset.
• Deep understanding of the luxury market and elite clientele expectations.
• Fluent in English and Italian; additional languages are a plus.

Required skills

• Proficiency with CRM systems and data‑analysis tools.

What we offer

• Gross annual salary of €80,000–€100,000.
• Variable bonus of 20% of the gross salary.
