Field Service Engineer - Medical Equipment (Emilia Romagna, Marche)

About the role

GE HealthCare is hiring a Field Service Engineer for its Emilia Romagna and Marche area. The role covers installation, configuration, maintenance and repair of medical equipment, ensuring optimal performance and compliance with regulatory standards. It includes preventive and corrective maintenance, training of healthcare staff and customer-facing support, with a hybrid arrangement.

Key responsibilities

• Install and configure medical equipment, focusing on one modality while developing knowledge of another.
• Test and calibrate equipment to ensure optimal performance.
• Train healthcare staff on operation and basic troubleshooting.
• Perform preventive maintenance and corrective operations of moderate complexity.
• Capture and maintain accurate work documentation, including debriefing, parts ordering and KPI metrics.
• Apply and coach on EHS and compliance standards.
• Use customer knowledge to help grow contract and on-demand revenue.
• Escalate complex problems to experienced peers and lead communications with customers, acting as escalation point for concerns including installations.
• Remote fixing and equipment diagnostics.

Required profile

• Experience in a similar role.
• Fluent in Italian and English; able to read, understand and hold conversations in English.
• Proficient in one modality, with a safety-first mindset and EHS compliance awareness.
• Knowledge of Lean and continuous improvement principles.

Required skills

• Excel and PowerPoint for analysing service data and presenting findings.
• Ability to set up and troubleshoot networks for connected medical devices, including IP configuration and basic IT coordination.
• Strong written and verbal communication, customer focus, and coaching and mentoring potential.

What we offer

• Annual salary range of 35,600 to 48,950 EUR under the metalworking industry collective agreement.
