Food Service Worker – Bob Richards RYDC (Rome, GA)

About the role

Under direct supervision, you will learn to prepare, heat, finish cooking food items and serve customers in a state‑run food service environment. The role also includes handling payments, maintaining clean work areas, and supporting overall cafeteria operations.

Key responsibilities

• Clean work areas, equipment, utensils, dishes, and silverware.
• Clean, peel, slice and trim foodstuffs using manual and electric appliances.
• Assist with food supply requisitions and sanitation/maintenance inspections.
• Receive payment for food items and manage cash transactions.
• Replenish supplies of food, condiments, and equipment at steam tables and service bars.
• Store food in designated containers and storage areas to prevent spoilage.
• Unpack and store raw and prepared food products.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least six months of experience in a similar food service setting.
• Ability to learn food preparation tasks and follow safety guidelines.
• Willingness to undergo reference and criminal background checks.
