GNSS Software Engineer and Architect

About the role

Thales Alenia Space is looking for a GNSS Software Engineer and Architect to join its real‑time embedded engineering team. You will work on cutting‑edge satellite and IoT devices, bridging low‑level hardware interactions with high‑level functional requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and test scalable, high‑performance software features for GNSS and related devices.
• Apply coding and security best practices to deliver clean, reusable, and secure code.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams, including UX, DevOps, and other developers, following Agile/Scrum processes.
• Maintain and evolve simulation tools and integration/testing environments.
• Stay current with emerging technologies and frameworks.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related field.
• Experience working in DevOps/Agile/Scrum teams.
• Comfort with real‑time, embedded environments and hardware‑close development.
• Willingness to develop software for a range of devices, from radars to wearables.

Required skills

• Embedded OS development: Linux, VxWorks, FastOS Linux.
• Programming languages: C, C++, VB.NET, ADA, Assembly.
• Simulation and performance‑measurement tools.
• Embedded system design and communication protocols: DDS, ARINC.
• Cloud platforms: AWS, GCP.
• Automated deployment tools: Helm, YAML, Ansible, Docker.
• Project management tools: JIRA, Confluence.
