Junior Web Developer

About the role

Canonical is looking for a Junior Web Developer to join its fully remote web team within the EMEA region. You will work on high‑fidelity websites and web applications, collaborating with designers, UX specialists and backend engineers to deliver open‑source‑focused digital experiences.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain responsive web pages and applications using HTML, CSS (SCSS) and JavaScript (React, TypeScript).
• Implement UI components that meet style guidelines, accessibility standards and SEO best practices.
• Collaborate with UX designers and server‑side developers to translate designs into functional code.
• Maintain code quality with Git version control and participate in code reviews.
• Update existing sites, add new content, and troubleshoot performance issues.

Required profile

• University degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
• Based in an EMEA timezone.
• Passion for open source and continuous learning.
• Strong attention to detail and good communication skills.

Required skills
