Junior Web Developer (Remote, EMEA)

About the role

Canonical is seeking a Junior Web Developer to join its fully remote web team serving the EMEA region. You will work on high‑fidelity websites and web applications, collaborating with designers, UX specialists and backend engineers to deliver modern, accessible digital experiences.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain responsive web pages and applications using HTML, CSS (SCSS) and JavaScript (React, TypeScript).
• Update existing projects, add new content, and implement feature requests.
• Ensure code follows Canonical’s style guidelines, performance standards, SEO best practices, and accessibility requirements.
• Collaborate with UX designers, visual designers and server‑side developers to refine UI/UX.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement of development processes.

Required profile

• Based in an EMEA timezone (Europe, Middle East or Africa).
• University degree or equivalent education in a related field.
• Passion for web standards, strong attention to detail and eagerness to learn.
• Good communication skills and willingness to share knowledge.
