Lecturer or Senior Lecturer – Teaching & Research in Law

About the role

UNSW Law & Justice is seeking a Lecturer (Level B) or Senior Lecturer (Level C) to join the School of Private and Commercial Law. The successful candidate will contribute to teaching, research and engagement activities across our LLB, JD and LLM programmes.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deliver undergraduate and postgraduate courses in private law areas such as equity and trusts, land and property law, contracts and torts.
• Develop and maintain an independent research programme with a strong publication record.
• Participate actively in the School’s and Faculty’s research culture and scholarly events.
• Engage with external stakeholders and contribute to policy‑oriented work.
• Report to the Head of School; supervise casual teaching fellows as required.

Required profile

• A PhD in Law or a closely related discipline (or equivalent).
• Demonstrated capacity for high‑quality research publications.
• Ability to teach effectively in one or more of the listed private law subjects.
• Commitment to the values of social justice and human rights embodied by UNSW.

• Full‑time, 35‑hour week position on a continuing basis.
• Remuneration at Level B (from $127,947) or Level C (from $155,403) plus 17% superannuation and annual leave loading.
