Legal Claims Manager

About the role

MSC Cruise Management UK is looking for a driven Legal Claims Manager to join its Legal and Insurance team. The role focuses on handling complex personal injury and shipping‑related claims within the cruise and wider maritime industry, acting as a key liaison between internal departments and external parties.

Key responsibilities

• Independently manage Admiralty matters, coordinating legal responses and case handling.
• Handle personal injury claims, ensuring timely assessment, documentation and resolution.
• Manage deviation claims, analysing incidents and coordinating follow‑up with stakeholders.
• Coordinate legal strategy across claims and litigation, working closely with internal and external counsel.
• Oversee cross‑departmental information flow and manage external service providers such as surveyors and experts.
• Lead accident investigations, collect and preserve evidence, and prepare case files.
• Conduct settlement negotiations and support dispute‑resolution strategies.
• Manage P&I insurance matters, including coverage coordination, claims handling and policy renewals.
• Provide regular reporting on case status, trends, statistics and potential exposure to the Head of Claims.

Required profile

• Fluent English; additional language is a plus.
• Maritime or legal studies background.
• Previous experience in the cruise or wider maritime industry.
• Knowledge of personal injury claims handling.
• Strong analytical and organisational abilities with attention to detail.
• Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively in an international, fast‑paced environment.
• Excellent communication skills for liaising with multiple stakeholders.
• Willingness to travel when required.
