Legal Counsel

About the role

sennder, Europe’s leading digital freight forwarder, is seeking a Legal Counsel to lead its legal function in Italy. Based in Milan, you will provide business‑oriented legal support across the organisation, helping to drive the digital transformation of road freight logistics.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review and negotiate commercial agreements in Italian and English, covering transport, service, outsourcing, real estate, insurance, HR and intra‑group services.
• Manage litigation and out‑of‑court disputes, including ordinary litigation, interim proceedings, settlements, insolvency claims and debt recovery.
• Oversee claims and insurance matters related to goods damage, transport liabilities, operational incidents and workplace accidents.
• Support health & safety, compliance and regulatory frameworks, including Italian Legislative Decrees 81/2008 and 231/2001, privacy, HACCP, audits and TAPA certification.
• Handle corporate governance and secretarial tasks such as corporate minutes, statutory books, filings, powers of attorney and interactions with the Companies’ Register and Chamber of Commerce.

Required profile

• Qualified lawyer with experience in commercial, transport and logistics law.
• Proven track record in managing contracts, litigation and insurance claims.
• Strong knowledge of Italian regulatory requirements (e.g., Legislative Decree 81/2008, 231/2001, privacy laws).
• Excellent communication skills in both Italian and English.
• Ability to coordinate with internal teams, external counsel and external advisors.
