Legal Counsel – Renewable Energy

About the role

We are seeking a commercially‑minded Legal Counsel to support the growth of our renewable energy business across Europe. Based in Milan with hybrid working, you will work on high‑value solar, wind, battery storage and energy transition projects from origination through construction and operation.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review and negotiate EPC, O&M, supply‑chain and framework agreements.
• Provide legal guidance on project development, acquisitions, disposals, permitting, corporate transactions, PPAs and financing.
• Advise internal teams on regulatory and compliance requirements for renewable energy and construction.
• Support negotiations with customers, suppliers, contractors and strategic partners across multiple jurisdictions.
• Conduct legal research and monitor legislative changes to ensure compliance.
• Manage relationships with external legal advisers and coordinate complex matters.
• Collaborate with senior legal leadership to structure processes, manage risk and improve contractual governance.

Required profile

• Qualified lawyer with membership of the relevant professional legal body.
• 3–5 years of experience in the renewable energy sector, either in‑house or in private practice.
• Proven ability to draft and negotiate EPC, O&M and commercial contracts.
• Exposure to project development, M&A, PPAs and project financing.
• Commercially minded with strong stakeholder‑management skills.
• Experience managing external counsel and legal budgets.
• Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, international environment.
