Legal Counsel – Renewable Energy (Milan)

About the role

Emeren Group Ltd is expanding its solar and storage business in Italy and seeks a Legal Counsel to support complex projects and ensure compliance across the renewable energy sector. Based in Milan, you will act as a trusted advisor to cross‑functional teams and liaise with regulators and public authorities.

Key responsibilities

• Provide accurate, timely legal advice on project‑related matters, including document review, contracts and due diligence.
• Review and approve contracts for M&A, land acquisition, consultancy, brokerage, real estate, corporate matters and conventions with authorities.
• Collaborate closely with internal departments to lead projects from a legal perspective.
• Develop and maintain internal governance guidelines to ensure compliance with company and external regulations.
• Identify, assess and communicate potential legal risks and changes to relevant stakeholders.
• Negotiate with external parties such as regulators, external counsel and public authorities.
• Draft and finalize agreements, contracts and other legal documents to protect the company’s rights.

Required profile

• Law degree; post‑degree specialization in law or business is a plus.
• 3–5 years of legal experience, preferably in the renewable energy sector.
• Deep understanding of solar industry regulations and market landscape.
• Fluent in Italian and English; additional languages are advantageous.
• Strong ethics, adaptability, teamwork and communication skills.

• Proficiency with MS Office tools.
