Legal Counsel – Telecom & Consumer Business

About the role

We are seeking a motivated Legal Counsel to join the consumer division of a leading Chinese multinational telecom company in Milan. The role supports commercial activities, ensures compliance with Italian and EU law, and provides strategic advice to enable growth.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure compliance of e‑commerce, marketing and product activities with competition law, GDPR, ESG and consumer protection regulations.
• Review, draft and negotiate commercial agreements such as distribution, sales, marketing, NDAs and supplier contracts.
• Provide timely legal advice to online sales, marketing, retail and service teams, proposing practical solutions.
• Assist in risk management related to data privacy, advertising and consumer protection.
• Collaborate with regional legal teams, headquarters, Finance, Tax and HR to align business actions with company policies.
• Monitor Italian and EU legislative developments and assess their impact on operations.
• Maintain a systematic archive of all legal documentation.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of legal experience in technology, consumer goods or a law firm.
• Strong knowledge of Italian commercial, contract and consumer protection law; familiarity with GDPR is a plus.
• Fluent in Italian and English, both written and spoken.
• Excellent drafting, negotiation and business sense.
• Proactive, precise, resilient and able to manage stress.
