Ocean Export Specialist

About the role

The Ocean Export Specialist will manage the outbound movement of goods by sea for JAS’s Biella branch, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and delivering high‑quality customer service.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and coordinate export documentation to guarantee lawful and cost‑effective shipments.
• Arrange cargo pick‑up, monitor transfers and track shipment status.
• Liaise with customs authorities, customers, suppliers and overseas agents to maintain smooth export operations.
• Obtain spot rates, handle bookings, rates and pre‑alerts, and communicate shipment updates.
• Create and maintain customer files, generate invoices and approve payables.
• Audit export files for accuracy and ensure proper data entry into the system.
• Support other departments and perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED; fluency in English (additional languages a plus).
• Minimum three years of experience, preferably in freight forwarding or logistics.
• Excellent organizational and communication abilities.
• Detail‑oriented, ethical team player capable of meeting deadlines.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
