OCS Specialist – Clinical Organ Care System (Bari, Italy)

About the role

The OCS Specialist will support the clinical use of the Organ Care System (OCS) for lung, liver and heart transplants across Italy and, when needed, other European sites. Reporting to the Country Manager, the role combines hands‑on organ preservation work with training, equipment management and cross‑functional collaboration.

Key responsibilities

• Apply OCS knowledge during organ retrieval, preservation, transport and assessment following TransMedics protocols.
• Provide 24/7 on‑call coverage for OCS cases, including nights, weekends and holidays.
• Travel to clinical sites within the EU transplant network to support OCS procedures and relay real‑time updates to the EU Clinical Programs team.
• Assist the sales team and customers with clinical expertise at national and regional events.
• Prepare and present internal case reviews of OCS usage.
• Manage OCS equipment stored at logistics hubs in Rome or Padua, performing preventive maintenance, inventory counts and testing.
• Support site initiation, refresher training and provide clinical guidance to users.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional departments to drive OCS adoption in the Italian market.
• Deliver training to the sales team on OCS functionality.
• Conduct literature, market and competitive analyses and present findings to management.
• Attend national and international congresses as required.

Required profile

• Fluent in written and spoken Italian and English.
• Degree in Techniques of Cardiocirculatory Pathophysiology and Vascular Perfusion or equivalent, or a BSN with relevant clinical experience.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in a clinical setting such as CVICU, OR, Cath Lab, ED or transplant.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends and holidays.
• Strong organizational skills, detail‑oriented and able to work calmly under pressure.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities for building long‑term relationships.
