Senior Lecturer / Associate Professor – Teaching & Research (Law & Criminology)

About the role

The School of Law, Society and Criminology at UNSW Law & Justice is seeking a senior academic to join its teaching and research team. The successful candidate will hold either a Senior Lecturer (Level C) or Associate Professor (Level D) appointment and will contribute to the Bachelor of Criminology and Criminal Justice programme.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver undergraduate courses such as Criminology in Practice and the Criminology Work Integrated Learning Placement.
• Develop and maintain an active, high‑quality research agenda in law, criminology or related fields.
• Engage with the School’s strategic priorities, including First Nations justice and the impact of AI and disruptive technologies.
• Participate in academic service, including curriculum development, student supervision and faculty committees.

Required profile

• Doctorate (PhD) in law, criminology or a closely related discipline.
• Demonstrated record of scholarly publications and research funding.
• Experience teaching at the undergraduate level, preferably in criminology or criminal justice.
• Commitment to incorporating Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives into teaching and research.

• Competitive salary: Level C from $127,000 or Level D from $155,000 per annum.
