Senior Manager, Medical Science Liaison – Lombardy East / Triveneto

About the role

The Senior Manager, Medical Science Liaison will lead field medical activities that support Alnylam's Medical Affairs strategy for marketed products and pipeline compounds across Lombardy East and Triveneto. You will use strong clinical knowledge to gather insights from the external healthcare environment and translate them into actionable internal recommendations.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain professional relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs) in the assigned therapeutic areas.
• Identify and support investigator‑initiated study (IIS) opportunities.
• Collect and communicate field insights, including emerging clinical and scientific trends.
• Support the planning and execution of advisory boards, symposia, and publication activities.
• Contribute to local Medical Affairs plans (e.g., Medical Activity Plans) under guidance.
• Review promotional and non‑promotional materials in collaboration with the Medical team.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional colleagues, including Medical and Commercial teams, to ensure aligned execution.
• Provide accurate, balanced scientific information in response to internal and external requests.
• Represent scientific content at conferences and external meetings.
• Escalate and respond to medical enquiries following company processes.

Required profile

• Degree in medical, clinical or life sciences (PhD, MD or equivalent preferred).
• Relevant experience in the healthcare industry; prior MSL or similar field medical experience preferred.
• Understanding of clinical research and working knowledge of Good Clinical Practice (GCP) is beneficial.
• Experience reviewing and interpreting scientific literature.
• Strong communication and presentation abilities.
• Ability to manage a territory and prioritize workload effectively.
• Willingness to travel approximately 50–60% of the time.
