Staff Content Manager – Legal Content (Italy, Germany, France)
clio
Job description
About the role
Clio, a global leader in legal AI technology, is hiring Staff Content Managers for its Content team, open to candidates across Italy, France and Germany. The role owns Clio's legal content portfolio across the three countries, covering case law, legislation and key secondary sources, and treats them as one product and infrastructure layer. It is a Staff-level position with wider scope and deeper technical ownership than a single-country Senior version.
Key responsibilities
- Own the Italy, Germany and France content collections as one product: set a single roadmap, define shared KPIs for completeness, update speed, enrichment depth and reliability, and drive ROI through win rates, retention and revenue.
- Map coverage gaps across case law and legislation in each market, rank them by demand, competition and cost, and lead build, buy and license decisions with Licensing, Legal and Corporate Development.
- Run a ranked backlog with Content Ops and Engineering, improve shared ingestion and enrichment pipelines (including the move to Iceberg), and set standards for monitoring, fault tolerance and disaster recovery.
- Work with editorial and ops teams to improve enrichment of case law and legislative data, set shared metadata standards and lead enrichment paired with AI so content is easier to find and use by downstream AI tools.
- Partner with Finance and FP&A to measure the financial and product impact of content spend, keep dashboards by market and present quarterly to the Content Committee.
- Track competitors in each country, build partnerships with courts, publishers and open-data groups, and follow new AI and NLP methods for legal text.
- Act as internal expert on Italian, German and French legal materials, train Product, Sales, Marketing and Support teams, and maintain an internal Legal Materials Reference Guide.
- Support enterprise RFPs and major sales deals, and help Product Marketing and Sales Enablement write go-to-market content and feed competitive facts into pricing and market-entry plans.
Required profile
- 7-10 years in legal publishing, legal data operations or product and content management, with a track record of owning a legal content portfolio end to end.
- Deep knowledge of at least one of the Italian, German or French legal systems and publishing markets, plus working knowledge of the other two.
- Fluency in English and native-level fluency in Italian, German or French; proven work using case law and legislation to support legal practice or research platforms.
- History of setting strategy and owning outcomes at a senior or staff level, with strong product ownership and the ability to lead across teams with no direct reporting line.
- Data-driven prioritization and ROI modeling, technical fluency across ETL pipelines, ingestion systems and metadata structures, and clear communication with executives.
What we offer
- Competitive, equitable salary within Clio's Total Rewards program, with top-tier health, dental and vision insurance.
- Hybrid work, with local employees expected in the office at least twice per week.
- Flexible time off policy, encouraged 20 days off per year, and a $2,000 annual counseling benefit.
- RRSP matching and RESP contribution, and a Clioversary recognition program.
