Aeronautical Fluidic-Mechanics System Installation Designer

About the role

Leonardo, a global aerospace, defence and security group, is looking for an Aeronautical Fluidic-Mechanics System Installation Designer for its Pomigliano plant. The role reports to the System Installation Senior Design and covers fluidic-mechanics design of systems such as fuel, hydraulic power, environmental control, oxygen, pneumatic and ice protection components, using CAD models and 2D drawings.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse requirements from aircraft specifications, system specifications and interface control documents
• Allocate space for equipment and main routings, contributing to the aircraft digital mock-up
• Prepare stressed layouts for sizing supports and tubes/pipes
• Analyse installability and maintainability of the designs
• Define interfaces with partners and release detailed drawings of machined and sheet-metal supports, pipes and tubes, assemblies and piping routings
• Revise 3D models and 2D drawings after changes raised during aircraft assembly and testing

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in electrical, mechanical or aeronautical engineering
• Junior level, 0-3 years of experience
• Good written and spoken English (B2)
• Willingness to travel outside Italy

Required skills

• CATIA V5 3D modelling and 2D drawings (Model Based Design)
• Knowledge of mechanical engineering drawings and processes
• Preferred: CAD modelling experience for aerospace
• Basic knowledge of functional schemes and data sheets
• Office package knowledge
