Aeronautical Structure Designer (Primary Structure)

About the role

Leonardo, a global aerospace, defence and security group, is looking for an Aeronautical Structure Designer for its Pomigliano plant. The role is a Composite and Metallic Primary Structure Designer who develops aircraft structures using CAD models and 2D drawings.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse requirements defined in Interface Control Documents
• Define the space allocation of primary structure parts for the Aircraft Digital Mock-Up
• Prepare stressed layouts for sizing of primary structure
• Analyse the installability of the designed installations
• Use composite design software (preferred Fibersim)
• Release drawings of composite and metallic details such as skins, stringers, panels, frames, ribs and fittings, and of assemblies and installations
• Work with System Installation Designers, Stress Analysts, Aerodynamics, Manufacturing Engineering and Partner Designers

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Aeronautical or Mechanical Engineering
• Knowledge of mechanical engineering (drawings, processes); preferred aerospace CAD modelling experience
• Good level of written and spoken English (B2)
• Problem solving, communication, teamwork, flexibility and proactivity
• Willingness to travel outside Italy

• Fibersim (preferred)
• Office packages
