About the role

The Construction Manager will support the development, tendering and execution of energy and infrastructure projects across the EMEA region. Reporting to the Head of Construction EMEA, the role bridges technical, commercial, procurement and execution teams to deliver projects safely, on time and within budget. The position is based in Italy with regular travel throughout EMEA.

Key responsibilities

  • Scout, evaluate and manage construction and general contractors (GCOs), supporting partner mapping, qualification and tendering activities.
  • Lead and coordinate GCO tendering processes, preparing subcontractor tender packages in line with global and local standards.
  • Prepare, review and validate technical, commercial and contractual documentation.
  • Estimate construction and installation budgets and support technical and commercial evaluations during bidding phases.
  • Identify, assess and mitigate construction‑related risks, maintaining risk registers and reporting key risks globally.
  • Prepare technical evaluation analyses aligned with customer contracts.
  • Support preparation and negotiation of contracts with GCOs and customers, collaborating with Legal, Procurement and Commercial teams.
  • Conduct site visits, surveys and preliminary construction activities during the tendering phase.
  • Define construction and installation schedules and integrate them with the overall project master schedule.
  • Ensure smooth handover from tendering to execution, supporting Project and Site Managers, including claims and variation management.
  • Coordinate remotely with Site Managers during execution and act as on‑site Site Manager when required.
  • Drive continuous improvement of construction management processes and reporting.
  • Promote full integration of HSE procedures and a strong safety culture across contractors.

Required profile

  • Master’s degree in Engineering, preferably Civil Engineering.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in construction management or similar roles.
  • Proven experience on multidisciplinary, medium to large‑scale energy or electrical infrastructure projects.
  • Experience in tendering, budgeting, risk management and contract negotiation.
  • Ability to work across multiple countries in the EMEA region.
