Data & Analytics Analyst – Italy

About the role

Oliver Wyman's Data & Analytics (DNA) division, part of Marsh, is hiring an Analyst in Milan. DNA is a team of quantitative analytics specialists focused on Europe, working with clients across financial services, climate and sustainability, energy, retail and transportation. The role involves collaborating with colleagues and clients at all levels to design solutions for analytical challenges, implement prototypes and assess their effectiveness.

Key responsibilities

• Work with clients and colleagues to design tailored solutions for analytical challenges and implement prototypes while assessing their effectiveness
• Contribute to projects such as NLP-based machine learning tools, portfolio decarbonisation modelling, promotion analytics, GenAI chatbots, default and loss models, supply-chain risk analysis and customer-churn models

Required profile

• Bachelor's, Master's or PhD in a quantitative discipline (data science, mathematics, natural sciences, statistics, computer science, engineering, etc.)
• Data-driven mindset and ability to explain complex data science concepts clearly to clients and colleagues
• At least 6 months of previous experience in specialised consulting firms, top-tier banking or financial institutions
• Excellent verbal and written English and Italian
• Interest in financial services and risk management is a plus

Required skills

• Proficiency with numbers and ideally programming in Python or R
• Eagerness to keep extending knowledge of technologies

What we offer

• Permanent contract under the CCNL Commercio, level 1, with a base salary of EUR 36,200 to 43,000 gross per year and a EUR 3,300 one-off sign-on bonus
