Data Platform & Governance Manager

About the role

The Data Platform & Governance Manager will sit within the Growth Data & Intelligence team of British American Tobacco Italy, reporting into the Global Consumer Experience function. You will be the key interface ensuring that marketing teams receive reliable, high‑quality data from the enterprise platform and martech tools, enabling faster insights and AI‑enhanced analytics.

Key responsibilities

• Collect, prioritize and translate data requirements (sources, schemas, real‑time, AI/ML readiness) for the DBS and Global D&A teams.
• Represent Global Customer & Consumer Experience in martech tool selection, implementation and roadmap discussions.
• Drive governance implementation, secure platform capacity and features for growth and AI workloads.
• Lead joint planning and execution for onboarding new martech tools, from evaluation to data pipeline setup and ingestion.
• Coordinate schema design, event‑tracking standards, integration testing and ensure data quality, lineage, cataloguing and MDM.
• Own data governance and compliance across the martech‑to‑platform chain, guaranteeing ethical and secure practices.
• Monitor key data metrics (completeness, freshness, latency, errors, AI readiness) and lead incident triage and service reviews.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing data platforms and governance in a consumer‑focused environment.
• Ability to act as primary liaison between Growth CX, DBS and Global D&A teams.
• Strong coordination and negotiation skills to define requirements, SLAs and drive cross‑functional alignment.
