Design Engineer – Build & Design Software Products

About the role

We are looking for a Design Engineer who can both craft beautiful user experiences and turn them into production‑ready code. At Ashby you will work on our in‑house design system, collaborate with product and engineering teams, and help shape the next generation of talent‑acquisition software.

Key responsibilities

• Redesign the mobile web application by gathering user feedback, creating wireframes in Figma, and implementing the final UI using React.
• Build flexible, composable components for the design system, including custom autocomplete widgets with filtering and record‑creation capabilities.
• Consult with engineers on bespoke design challenges, improving information hierarchy and scannability of candidate assessment views.
• Maintain and evolve the design system to ensure consistency across all Ashby products.

Required profile

• Strong passion for both design and engineering, with a track record of turning visual concepts into functional code.
• Experience working closely with customers or end‑users to iterate on UI/UX.
• Ability to communicate design decisions clearly to cross‑functional teams.
