Desktop Support Technician

About the role

The Desktop Support Technician provides on‑premise IT assistance for end users and office infrastructure. You will be the first point of contact for hardware, software and network issues, ensuring smooth daily operations across the site.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose and resolve desktop, laptop, printer, mobile phone and peripheral issues on Windows, macOS and Linux platforms.
• Provision, de‑provision and replace corporate devices, following Ericsson processes.
• Install, test and maintain basic network equipment (switches, routers, access points) and troubleshoot Wi‑Fi/LAN connectivity.
• Support office services such as printing, voice, AV equipment, digital signage, smart office sensors and smart metering.
• Coordinate with Level‑2 teams (e.g., End‑User Computing, EMM) for escalated problems.
• Manage hardware assets: receive, unbox, tag, image, register, audit and dispose of devices according to policy.
• Maintain accurate incident records, escort third‑party providers, and assist with internal/external audits.

Required profile

• Hands‑on experience with on‑site IT support in an office environment.
• Ability to follow structured processes and documentation.
• Strong communication skills for interacting with end users and vendors.

Required skills

• Windows, macOS and Linux operating systems.
• Desktop and laptop hardware troubleshooting.
• Printer and mobile device support.
• Basic networking (switches, routers, access points, Wi‑Fi, LAN).
• Asset management tools and hardware inventory procedures.
• Familiarity with AV equipment, digital signage and smart office sensors.
