Director of Government Relations – Italy & Southern Europe

About the role

Honeywell Aerospace is looking for a Director of Government Relations to lead engagement with the Italian government, Parliament, regulators and key external stakeholders. Based in Rome, the role will shape policy interaction for a newly independent $17 B aerospace and defence business across Italy and, as needed, Greece and Spain.

Key responsibilities

• Represent Honeywell Aerospace’s manufacturing, maintenance and technology interests at the national level.
• Develop and execute an integrated government‑relations strategy for civil aviation, defence, safety, certification, trade, export and emerging aerospace technologies.
• Monitor policy developments and manage relationships with national and local authorities, EU institutions and NATO.
• Coordinate with the Senior Director, Government Relations, Europe in Brussels and with counterparts in other Southern European states.
• Advise business leaders on public‑policy impacts and ensure alignment with operational and technology priorities.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in government affairs, public policy or regulatory affairs within the aerospace, defence or related high‑technology sectors.
• Deep knowledge of the Italian political system, regulatory environment and key decision‑makers.
• Proven ability to build and sustain senior‑level relationships with government officials and industry stakeholders.
• Strong strategic thinking, communication and influencing skills.
• Fluency in Italian and English.

Required skills

• Understanding of civil aviation and defence policy frameworks.
• Experience with EU institutions and NATO engagement.
• Ability to analyse legislative proposals and assess business impact.
