Engineering & Construction Senior Planner

About the role

PwC is looking for a Senior Planner for its Engineering & Construction advisory practice in Milan. The planner manages and executes planning and reporting activities for projects of any size and complexity, working closely with the Project Control Manager and in line with the contract, company quality requirements and the project execution plan. The role is offered at Senior Associate level under the first-level Commerce collective agreement.

Key responsibilities

• Guide the planning team in setting up project control tools and prepare the full set of planning procedures (WBS, schedules, progress measurement system).
• Prepare project control documents such as the Execution Plan, milestones plan, 90-day schedule, WBS, top-down and detailed schedules, progress curves and manpower histograms.
• Lead workshops on planning topics (WBS/PBS, interactive planning, schedule risk analysis) and define the planning reports and presentations.
• Lead the development of the Baseline Planning Package, including schedule narrative and basis of assumptions, and monitor deviations from the baseline, proposing corrective actions.
• Monitor man-hour expenditure, productivity trends and schedule deviations, including vendor and subcontractor submittals, and run periodic schedule risk analyses.
• Analyze the time impact of potential delays and claims against contract and purchase order requirements, and support the project team and claim and contract management teams.
• Support the cost control team with invoicing documentation and cost projections, and the procurement team with material delivery timelines.
• Evaluate subcontractor bids against schedule requirements and lead the site planning team until the full team is mobilized.
• Collect planning data at project close-out for the company database and the lesson-learnt database.

Required profile

• Senior Associate level; final pay depends on assessment of prior experience and competencies.
• Fixed-term contract at the first level of the Commerce collective agreement, with a variable component linked to performance of up to 10% of the base pay.
