Field Quality Investigator – Quality Flying Doctor

About the role

We are looking for a Field Quality Investigator – often called the “Quality Flying Doctor” – to join Stellantis’ Leapmotor International team. In this role you will travel to dealerships, repair shops and customer sites to investigate complex quality issues reported in the field, turning raw observations into actionable data that drives engineering solutions and improves product reliability.

Key responsibilities

• Travel to field locations to perform hands‑on inspections of vehicles with reported quality concerns.
• Interview customers, service technicians and field service engineers to capture first‑hand accounts of the problem.
• Collect and record diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs), live data streams, vehicle logs and other relevant measurements.
• Conduct issue re‑appearance tests to confirm problems and define the exact conditions under which they occur.
• Assemble comprehensive pre‑analysis packages (photos, videos, data logs, measurements) and produce concise reports.
• Perform initial triage to classify the likely root‑cause category (design, manufacturing/process, component failure).
• Prepare technical summaries that serve as the basis for deeper investigations by specialized engineering teams.

Required profile

• Strong interest in automotive products, innovation and customer experience.
• Willingness to travel frequently and work on‑site at various customer locations.
• Analytical mindset with the ability to conduct detailed technical investigations.
• Effective communication skills for interviewing stakeholders and presenting findings.
