Field Service Engineer - Medical Equipment (Toscana)

About the role

GE HealthCare is hiring a Field Service Engineer for its Toscana area. The role covers installation, configuration, maintenance and repair of medical equipment, ensuring optimal performance and compliance with regulatory standards. It includes preventive and corrective maintenance, training of healthcare staff and customer-facing support, with a hybrid arrangement.

Key responsibilities

• Install and configure medical equipment, focusing on one modality while developing knowledge of another.
• Test and calibrate equipment to ensure optimal performance.
• Train healthcare staff on operation and basic troubleshooting.
• Perform preventive maintenance and corrective operations of moderate complexity.
• Capture and maintain accurate work documentation, including debriefing, parts ordering and KPI metrics.
• Coach and mentor to ensure EHS and compliance standards are met.
• Use customer knowledge to help grow contract and on-demand revenue.
• Escalate complex problems to experienced peers and lead communications with customers, acting as escalation point for concerns including installations.
• Handle remote fixing and equipment diagnostics.

Required profile

• Experience in a similar role.
• Fluent in Italian and English; able to read, understand and hold conversations in English.
• Knowledge of Lean and continuous improvement principles.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Customer-focused, safety-first mindset, with a one-team approach and ability to adapt to change.

Required skills

• Proficiency in one modality of medical equipment, with knowledge of another.
• Excel and PowerPoint for analysing service data and presenting findings.
• Ability to assist with network setup and troubleshooting of connected medical devices, including IP configuration and basic IT coordination.

What we offer

• Annual salary range of 35,600 to 48,950 EUR under the metalworking industry collective agreement, depending on skills, experience and internal equity.
