Freelance DevOps Engineer – Automation Systems for AI

About the role

Mindrift is seeking a freelance DevOps Engineer to design, deploy and maintain scalable automation infrastructure for the Tendem AI project. You will work remotely, collaborating with AI pilots and Tendem agents to ensure high‑availability and performance of automation pipelines.

Key responsibilities

• Deploy and maintain self‑hosted automation environments such as n8n instances.
• Design and manage cloud infrastructure to support high‑volume workflows and large‑scale data processing.
• Scale automation systems to handle concurrent workloads and performance‑intensive tasks.
• Set up monitoring, logging and alerting systems to track workflow performance and detect failures.
• Implement alerts for critical events like node failures, performance drops or system instability.
• Ensure system uptime, reliability and fault tolerance across automation pipelines.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of experience in DevOps, infrastructure engineering or backend system management.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field is a plus.
• Strong experience with cloud platforms and server deployment workflows.
• Proven ability to build and maintain high‑availability, scalable architectures.
• Experience setting up monitoring, logging and alerting solutions.
• Familiarity with containerisation tools such as Docker.
• Understanding of system performance, scaling strategies and fault tolerance.
• Self‑directed work ethic with the ability to troubleshoot and optimise infrastructure independently.

What we offer

• Up to $50 per hour, depending on experience and contribution level.
