Freelance Material Scientist (Python) – AI Trainer

About the role

This freelance position involves creating and validating material‑engineering problems for AI training projects. You will work remotely on a project‑by‑project basis, designing realistic engineering scenarios that require Python‑based numerical solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Design original material‑engineering problems that mimic real‑world workflows.
• Develop problem statements that require Python programming for calculations, simulations, and iterative solutions.
• Ensure problems are computationally intensive and involve system design, optimization, and analysis.
• Base tasks on actual research challenges or practical engineering applications.
• Verify solutions using Python and standard engineering libraries, and provide clear documentation with correct answers.

Required profile

• Degree in Material Science or a closely related field.
• At least 2 years of professional, research, or teaching experience in material engineering.
• Strong written English proficiency (C1 level or higher).
• Understanding of practical engineering constraints and approximations.

Required skills

• Python programming.
• Numerical libraries such as NumPy, Pandas, SciPy.
• Familiarity with MATLAB, R, C, SQL, or other domain‑specific libraries.
