Help Desk Support Specialist

About the role

The consultancy client is seeking a Help Desk Support Specialist to join a leading organisation in the airport, postal and industrial automation sector. The role combines remote and onsite first‑line support for critical automation environments, ensuring high system availability and rapid issue resolution.

Key responsibilities

• Provide remote and onsite help‑desk assistance for industrial automation systems.
• Manage, prioritize and resolve support tickets efficiently.
• Troubleshoot hardware, software and operational problems within OT environments.
• Escalate incidents and coordinate with specialist technical and engineering teams.
• Monitor system performance and guarantee timely resolution of requests.
• Document incidents, actions taken and resolutions accurately.
• Support operational continuity in a fast‑paced industrial setting.
• Participate in an on‑call rotation (approximately one week per month).

Required profile

• Previous experience in a Helpdesk, Service Desk or Technical Support role.
• Background supporting industrial automation, manufacturing, logistics, airport baggage handling, postal or warehouse automation environments.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving abilities.
• Experience handling support tickets and collaborating with multiple technical teams.
• Good understanding of IT infrastructure, networks and system support.
• Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
• Excellent communication skills for both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
• Fluent spoken and written Italian and English.
