Interim Senior Asset Manager – Milan or London

About the role

Cero Generation is seeking an Interim Senior Asset Manager to oversee utility‑scale photovoltaic (PV) assets, including agrivoltaic projects and optional battery energy storage systems (BESS). The role combines strategic oversight with hands‑on operational management to maximise technical performance, financial returns and regulatory compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Take overall responsibility for technical performance and availability of PV plants (HV/MV/LV systems, modules, inverters, substations, BESS where applicable).
• Monitor plant performance via SCADA, conduct PR and loss analysis, track availability KPIs and degradation trends.
• Conduct regular site visits to supervise maintenance, WHSE compliance, site condition and landlord/contractor relations.
• Coordinate preventative and corrective maintenance, ensuring response times meet O&M contract terms.
• Identify, analyse and resolve technical issues such as under‑performance, inverter failures, HV faults and grid curtailments.
• Manage major corrective interventions, component replacements and warranty claims with suppliers and OEMs.
• Oversee HV/MV infrastructure, substations, protection systems and DSO/TSO interfaces.
• Provide technical input for repowering, revamping and optimisation initiatives.
• Support negotiation of O&M and asset‑management agreements.
• Assist construction teams with asset‑management hand‑over and PAC punch‑list closure.
• Coordinate agrivoltaic activities (crop cultivation, grazing, land maintenance) in line with contracts and permits, liaising with agronomists, farming contractors and landowners.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing utility‑scale PV assets, preferably with exposure to agrivoltaic projects.
• Strategic mindset combined with strong hands‑on operational oversight.
• Ability to work with multidisciplinary teams (finance, legal, engineering, construction, WHSE).
• Experience with battery storage systems is a plus.
