Junior Web Developer

About the role

Canonical is looking for a Junior Web Developer to join its fully remote web team. You will work alongside visual designers, UX specialists and other developers to build high‑fidelity websites and web applications that follow Canonical’s open‑source standards.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain modern web sites and applications using HTML, CSS (SCSS) and JavaScript (React, TypeScript).
• Update existing projects, add new pages and manage content requests.
• Ensure code meets style guidelines, performance benchmarks, SEO best practices and accessibility requirements.
• Collaborate with UX designers, server‑side developers and other team members to deliver consistent user experiences across devices and browsers.

Required profile

• University degree or equivalent education.
• Based in an EMEA timezone (Europe, Middle East or Africa).
• Demonstrable experience building modern web applications.
• Curiosity about new technologies, strong communication skills and a passion for open‑source contributions.
