Junior Web Developer

About the role

Canonical is looking for a Junior Web Developer to join its fully remote web team serving the EMEA region. You will build and maintain high‑fidelity websites and web applications, ensuring they meet Canonical’s quality standards and style guidelines.

Key responsibilities

• Develop responsive, high‑performance web pages using HTML, CSS (SCSS) and JavaScript (React, TypeScript).
• Maintain and extend existing web projects, updating content and adding new pages.
• Collaborate with UX designers, visual designers and backend developers to deliver cohesive user experiences.
• Handle incoming feature requests and bug reports, ensuring timely delivery.
• Apply SEO best practices and accessibility considerations throughout development.

Required profile

• Based in an EMEA timezone (Europe, Middle East or Africa).
• University degree or equivalent education in a related field.
• Passion for web standards, strong attention to detail, and a willingness to learn.
• Good communication skills and ability to work in a multidisciplinary remote team.
