Junior Web Frontend Developer

About the role

Canonical is looking for a Junior Web Frontend Developer to join its globally distributed team. You will help build and maintain data‑rich, reliable user interfaces for Canonical’s enterprise products, working primarily with JavaScript, CSS, React and Flutter.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and document well‑tested frontend software using web technologies and Flutter.
• Debug and resolve issues reported by users.
• Participate in code and architectural reviews as part of the engineering process.
• Collaborate with community members and colleagues on technical specifications.
• Contribute to technical documentation and improve engineering and operations practices.
• Deploy, operate and support services developed by the team.

Required profile

• Strong academic background in engineering, computer science or a related STEM field.
• Passion for open‑source software, innovation and cutting‑edge web technologies.
• Ability to contribute high‑quality code and demonstrate technical leadership.
• Willingness to engage with the broader open‑source community.
