Legal Entity Accountant

About the role

Join Vontobel’s Finance team as the primary finance contact and Legal Entity Accountant for the Milan Branch and SIM Milano. You will act as the key link between Group Finance in Zurich and local stakeholders in Italy, ensuring accurate IFRS accounting and financial reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Own end‑to‑end accounting and financial reporting for the Milan branch, delivering monthly, semi‑annual and annual closes.
• Coordinate statutory local financial statements and regulatory deliverables with external Italian service providers.
• Perform, review and monitor accounting activities in SAP S/4HANA, covering branch, intercompany and legal entity transactions.
• Support Group consolidation by preparing reporting packages, reconciliations and related deliverables.

Required profile

• Higher education in Business Administration, Accounting or Finance, or a commercial apprenticeship with further accounting qualifications.
• 5‑10 years of accounting experience in banking or financial services, with proven end‑to‑end reporting responsibility.
• Strong analytical, communication and stakeholder‑management skills; ability to work independently in an international environment.
• Fluent English; German and Italian are an advantage.

Required skills

• Practical experience with SAP S/4HANA (general ledger, financial close, legal entity accounting).
• Comprehensive knowledge of IFRS, Group Accounting Policies and regulatory requirements.
