About the role
Do IT Now is seeking a proactive Linux Systems Administrator to join its High‑Performance Computing (HPC) support team. The role involves installing, configuring and maintaining Linux‑based HPC clusters and working closely with application and system engineers to deliver advanced solutions.
Key responsibilities
- Install, configure and maintain HPC systems on GNU/Linux distributions.
- Design and implement cluster architectures, including servers, high‑speed interconnects, storage and queue management tools.
- Collaborate with engineers to identify, install and configure HPC applications and improve performance.
- Develop and deliver training for clients and end‑users.
- Provide on‑site support in Turin and travel to business meetings every two months.
Required profile
- High school diploma or degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in Linux system administration, preferably in HPC environments.
- Fluent in English and Italian.
- Team‑oriented, proactive, good communication skills and willingness to travel.
Required skills
- Linux Enterprise distributions (RedHat EL, SLES).
- Scripting with Bash and Python.
- Networking (switching, VLAN, firewall).
- Monitoring tools (Zabbix, Nagios).
- Parallel file systems (Lustre, BeeGFS, GPFS, Ceph).
- HPC schedulers (PBS, LSF, SLURM).
- Containers (Docker, Singularity, R.H. Container).
- Deployment tools (Xcat, Bright Cluster Manager).
- Automation tools (Ansible, Puppet).
