Logistics Supervisor - Hyperscale Data Center Project

About the role

A market-leading contractor is looking for a Logistics Supervisor to join its team on a hyperscale data center project in Milan. The role is site-based and acts as the nerve centre of site movement: materials, deliveries, vertical transport, access and security. Experience managing logistics on a live construction site is required; data center experience is a bonus.

Key responsibilities

• Map, define and control all on-site and near-site storage areas, deciding who gets which space according to project priorities.
• Run the web-based delivery booking system and ensure deliveries only happen when there is space.
• Work with subcontractors and security so deliveries arrive on time.
• Create and enforce a call-off system that keeps access routes clear.
• Track vertical transportation plant capacity so cranes and hoists stay productive.
• Help run the weekly delivery coordination meeting and own every action item.
• Link security at the perimeter with the controlled chaos inside the hoarding line.
• Coordinate with the Appointed Person/Crane Coordinator to keep lifts running smoothly.
• Handle accommodation and vehicle requirements for site employees, including leases, trackers and troubleshooting.

Required profile

• Experience managing logistics on a live construction site (data center experience a bonus).
• Tolerance for complexity and intolerance for disorganisation.
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to think several steps ahead, since everything on the site affects everything else.
• Views logistics as the circulatory system of a project, not an afterthought.
