Manufacturing Engineer – Process Design & Support

About the role

North American Lighting Inc., the leading tier‑one automotive exterior lighting manufacturer in North America, is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer II. The role focuses on planning, designing, and implementing manufacturing processes to ensure new product designs are production‑ready and to maintain efficient assembly operations.

Key responsibilities

• Provide day‑to‑day technical support and training for plant assembly processes.
• Analyze and optimize assembly line layouts, workflow, change‑over fixturing, gauges, WIP storage, and tool storage to maximize efficiency.
• Develop APQP documentation, including PFMEA, process flow charts, and process design sheets.
• Lead prototype and pre‑production sample builds and generate Internal Sample Inspection Reports (ISIR).
• Support program‑level schedules with detailed engineering micro‑schedules to meet project milestones.
• Identify equipment load, tooling, and new process requirements and communicate them to internal teams.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Industrial Technology, or a related field.
• 2–4 years of manufacturing experience, preferably in a JIT automotive environment.
• Proven ability to support production lines and drive continuous improvement.
