Principal SoC Program Manager - MCU

About the role

NXP is expanding its R&D teams in Catania to develop high‑impact microcontrollers as part of its Intelligent Edge and AI strategy. The Principal SoC Program Manager will lead cross‑functional core teams to drive the planning and execution of advanced MCU products.

Key responsibilities

• Drive all phases of SoC development projects, from architecture definition through silicon validation and product release.
• Create and maintain detailed project plans with milestones, schedules, dependencies and deliverables.
• Facilitate project reviews and regular meetings with global cross‑functional stakeholders to resolve issues and ensure progress.
• Monitor project health, provide transparent reporting to senior management, and act as the primary escalation point.
• Support technical decision‑making, architectural reviews, documentation closure and quality control activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of project‑management methodologies, both Waterfall and Agile.
• Proven leadership experience in complex semiconductor or SoC development projects from concept to production release.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills, with the ability to operate in ambiguous, high‑pressure environments.

Required skills

• Project‑management tools such as Microsoft Project or Jira.
• Understanding of semiconductor product development, system architecture and SoC design flows.
• Experience with risk assessment and mitigation planning.
