Procurement Associate (G-6) – Full‑time – Rome

About the role

UNICEF is seeking a Procurement Associate (G‑6) to support its fundraising and operational activities in Rome. The role ensures timely, transparent, and value‑driven procurement services that enable the organization to deliver results for children worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Review and process procurement requests for compliance and completeness.
• Manage sourcing, solicitation, evaluation, and contracting activities.
• Provide procurement guidance to internal clients and vendors.
• Support procurement planning, market research, and sourcing strategies.
• Prepare and administer contracts, long‑term agreements, and purchase orders.
• Monitor supplier performance and contract delivery.
• Maintain procurement records and documentation.
• Coordinate Contract Review Committee (CRC) processes.
• Monitor procurement commitments and operational reporting.
• Support day‑to‑day administration of procurement operations.

Required profile

• Secondary education completed, supplemented by technical or university‑level courses in commerce, procurement, supply chain, or a related field.
• At least 6 years of relevant experience in supply management, procurement, or international public procurement.
• Proven experience applying UN supply and procurement policies and managing international tenders.
• Experience interacting with UN or multilateral organizations, global vendors, and decentralized offices.

Required skills

• Solid knowledge of UN supply & procurement policies.
• Experience with international public procurement processes and procedures.
• Ability to prepare solicitation documents (RFQs, ITBs, RFPs) and conduct bid evaluations.
• Contract preparation and supplier performance monitoring.
